Arlington West consists of a white cross for every American soldier killed in Iraq. The memorial is set up by volunteers every Sunday on West Beach. Now over 2700 crosses, the process takes over 2 hours to set up and again to take down.
A.C. Postel Memorial Rose Garden (1:00)
Stop and smell the roses at A.C. Postel Memorial Rose Garden. This sanctuary displays over 240 different types of roses in 25 beds. Located across from the Santa Barbara Mission.

This story is about how one person did his part to make a difference. Paul Edwards, a local resident and a former Disney animator, raised money for the Hurricane Katrina victims by selling his watercolor paintings.
Dinner for a Cause (2:14)
Santa Barbarans have big hearts. At this fundraiser, opal restaurant and bar held a special evening with three dinner sittings where all money raised went to aid the Hurricane Katrina victims. The proprietors and staff volunteered their time and the vendors donated food and wine thus allowing the proceeds to be even greater.
